Port of Rotterdam Authority and energy derivatives exchange APX-ENDEX have announced to start a formal collaboration on the development of a biomass commodities exchange. This collaboration proceeded from the survey of CKade and Progrex Innovent on the possibilities for such an exchange. For the full press release please click here.

The next RBCN network meeting will take place on October 6th. This network meeting will be co-hosted with the JatrophaWorld 2010 conference taking place in Rotterdam on 6 and 7 October 2010. The JatrophaWorld 2010 program focuses on the latest developments in cultivation, breeding, processing and production & market outlook of jatropha oil and co-products.

The Rotterdam Climate Initiative commissioned CKade and Progrex Innovent to develop a business plan for a biomass commodities exchange in Rotterdam. The exchange should strengthen the position of Rotterdam as a global leader in the import, processing and trade of biomass.

Ckade organized the international conference on the use of GMOs in agriculture and food production. This event took place on November 25-26 in The Hague, The Netherlands and was commisioned by the Dutch ministers of Agriculture and Environment. Ronald Zwart has been placed first in the 2009 FOSFA Special Merit Award. He received the award at a presentation luncheon at the Tallow Chandlers Hall in London.
