Malaysia is one of the fast growing economies in Southeast Asia. It produces at least 80 million dry tons of biomass per annum, mostly waste streams from the palm oil plantations. Great economic and sustainability opportunities are at hand to realize a waste-to-wealth biobased industry.
CKade established a second office in Kuala Lumpur in 2011 to directly connect the EU and Malaysian biomass markets. CKade works closely with the biomass industries in Malaysia as well as with governmental institutions and organizations. As such, it has first-hand market information about existing business activities, available biomass resources, technology needs and JV opportunities. Together with a good insight in governmental support policies, CKade is well-positioned to support the successful development of biobased business activities in Malaysia.
CKade participates in the public-private Oil Palm Biomass Consortium (OPBC), a multiyear program with up- and downstream industries and scientific institutions to promote technology development for commercial applications in the production of biobased chemicals, materials and bioenergy.
