The application of biotechnology in sustainable agriculture is a particularly complex subject. It is where high-tech science and rapid technological developments meet strong commercial interests and public opinion, as well as close government involvement and extensive policy frameworks.
CKade is committed to making a strong contribution to a constructive dialogue and effective policy framework. CKade acted as project leader for the international conference GMOs in European Agriculture and Food Production that took place on 25-26 November 2009 in The Hague, The Netherlands. 250 participants from 30 countries participated in this event organized by the Dutch ministers of Agriculture and Environment.
CKade also directed a stakeholder dialogue in collaboration with Het Portaal on the prospects of a sustainable agriculture and the possible contribution of genetically modified crops. A background document that was prepared to support this dialogue can be downloaded from this page.
